Race car tension

I need Scott to get a new hobby because keeping tabs on the race cars is beginning to stress him out!

Sydney has all the reject race cars and is counting them like Scott. She was doing it with his but she kept counting and it was stressing him out so I made her own line of cars.

It's more fun to play with brother's cars so she is now putting them in the basket. In retaliation, Scott is putting hers in his basket too :o)

The standoff...

He's explaining to her that that's a race car so it belongs in his basket.

On guard even outside!

this and that...

Hugging baby

Sydney had to have corn since everyone else had it. She managed to get a few kernels off!

Yesterday we went to a birthday party and Scott got his first taste of a foam pit.

After the party they played with all their goody bag goodies--bubbles being one of them.

An evening at the park...

I just happened to bring my camera to the park tonight and got a few good shots of the kids.

Sydney loves the slide! She can't go up the ladder at this park yet but she sure can climb up the slide.

Playing peekaboo!

Easter

The Easter bunny paid us a visit!

Scott had 3 baths on Easter!! He wanted to play with his new bath paint!

The second egg hunt was much more successful. Here Sydney is climbing a mulch hill to reach her eggs. Honestly she was much more interested in playing on the slide during this time.

Scott's checking out his loot and eating as much as he can before I cut him off.

Butterflies

Yesterday all of our butterflies hatched! We started with 10 tiny caterpillars. We watched them grow, then each make a chrysalis, finally hatching out as butterflies.

Ally was quite interested on the day of the release.

Jack was the reason we released them right after they hatched. He rarely left their side.

Releasing the butterflies...

Scott just reached in and touched a butterfly. This is a look of surprise and excitement!

El Lago egg hunt

So Easter egg hunt 1 of 2 didn't exactly go as planned this year. It all started off with breakfast at the donut shop, followed by wet and dirty feet at the hunt, lots and lots of tears, a couple of eggs and finally an explanation from Scott. He told me on our way home, "Sorry mommy. I didn't want to run to the finish line. I can't. There are too many people." Previously at the hunt I referred to the roped off area as the starting line and when they said go we would run and pick up eggs. It all makes sense now! That is why there are no pictures of the actual hunt. I was carrying Sydney and my friend Kendra was carrying Scott.

Breakfast at the donut shop. He's licking the green frosting off his donut.

I guess this was before I started talking about running to get the eggs! They are all smiles here.

Kendra and Scott.

Drying up the tears after the hunt.
We have one more egg hunt tomorrow evening with friends in the neighborhood. Maybe that one will go a little smoother.

Coloring Eggs

Today we colored our Easter eggs. I had read somewhere about using whisks to hold the eggs and I have to say that is a fantastic idea!

We had a wardrobe change at this point. I'm sure you can guess why! All the eggs are colored (after about 5 minutes) so Scott wants to know what else we can do and I decide noodles are the answer.
