Batter up!

We've gotten a lot of use out of our water balloons around here...

New pitcher, new batter

Saturday Sprinkles

Who needs a pool when you've got a sprinkler...

or goggles and a sprinkler

OR...a snorkel and a sprinkler

I guess it's easier to handle the fine drops of water this way.
I will be concerned if he asks to wear his snorkel the next time it rains.

OR...a car and a sprinkler

OR...

Oh man.  We are not in the backyard buddy.  You can't drop your drawers out front.
A sprinkler is fun by itself or with other extras.  The one thing you must have is your pants.

Water Balloons

Friday morning we had some water balloons sitting around from some bath time fun several nights before.
The kids ate breakfast outside and we had some time to kill before heading out for the day so we brought them outside to throw.

Like usual they come up with something better like throwing them in the pool.

And then scooping them out.

Well it looks like Scott caught a little something extra this time...

Let's Make...

Everyday when we drop Scott after school it's the same thing...
"Let's make something for Scott.  Cookies."

Over the year it has changed into...
"Can we make muffins?  Can we make sugar cookies?"
Of course these are the 2 things Sydney loves.

So this week really rocked her world.
Tuesday we made blueberry muffins.

Oh did I forget to mention that she loves to make these things because it's the batter she truly loves.
Blueberry muffin batter is her mommy's favorite and this time she told me, "Mommy, I won't get mad this time.  You can have a lick."  Yes, she let me know how she felt previous bakings when I stuck my finger in the batter bowl.

Wednesday we made sugar cookies.
My personal favorite cookie as well.  Like mother, like daughter.

Pesky lil' Sisters

Can you see her grin?  She knows exactly what she's doing.

Zoobilee

Zoobilee was...well...last month.  I'm a bit behind on my posts.
Zoobilee is like a party at the zoo for zoo members.

We had a little pre-party at the party tent--inflatables, large rabbit to pet, crazy photo shoot.

I finally brought my camera to the zoo so they were asking for pictures like crazy.
We've never even seen this movie.

This was a big moment for Scott.  The last time we were here with friends Scott climbed up on top of the monkey and fell right off the top face down.  Thankfully he caught himself with his hands.
This time he was successful.

And his sister was there to help him down.

We rode the carousel twice.  Once I rode with Sydney and...

the other time Scott and I rode the bench.

Free snacks = cheese crackers.
Don't tell Scott this though.  This was proof that he enjoyed one bite of a cheese cracker :o)

First time potato sack race for Scott.
He refers to this as the bean bag race.

Airbrush Tattoos.

Oh and a picture with mommy.  Oh those are rare so I guess that makes them extra special!!

So the other big thing at the zoo that night were dinosaurs.
We visited the dinosaurs two years ago in 2010.
I mention this because there were A LOT of similarities between the visits and one big difference.
2012 = HAPPY

2010 = SAD

Ok, now for the similarities...
1.  Scott was wearing the same tennis shoes. I mean the exact same pair.  I thought kids feet grew like weeds.
2.  Eric is wearing the same hat.
3.  Scott and Eric and both wearing sunglasses and Sydney is not. (I'm really stretching for more similarities at this point since I did stress A LOT)
4.  Sydney took her shoes off in the car and boy was it unpleasant.  I promise the last zoobilee was the last time I remember this happening.  I was driving the car that night and or I would of taken a picture for comparison sake.

Well that was only 4 things but I guess it seems like a lot to me.
If Scott is still wearing the same shoes next year then... I should just buy him some new shoes.

Smashing Shells

It was one of those days.  Kids are bored.  Mom is on edge.
We need an activity and we need to smash something.
Ding! Ding! Ding!  Winner = Easter eggs I threw away that morning.
Thankfully it was a light trash day in the kitchen and they were able to be rescued from the trash.

This picture shows the nails.  Knowing this just makes the next picture all the better.

What a girly tool girl.

Last egg...

smashed!
"Mom, let's make some more."
"Maybe next year Scott."

Egg masterpiece almost complete.
Just needs a name...well the name turned into lovely pen art surround the shells.
