Personalized Pool

Sometimes you just need a break from the usual...

Passing Through

We had special visitors for several days at the beginning of June.  My aunt and uncle were moving from California to Florida and made Houston one of their stops!

This was the first time for Scott and Sydney to meet Ginny and Marty.  Sydney was smitten with Marty from the second she saw him...

Eric and our friend Pam planned a fantastic tour of NASA.

Fun, fun times! Hopefully we can visit them at their new house in Florida someday soon!

Daddy-do

It's nice to know that daddy can do hair :o)

Old vs. New

Growing up I loved playing with cars.  It ranked up there with barbies and dolls...well almost.
The city was one of the favorites for the cars.
It was saved from childhood but due to the hot hot hot weather in Texas the pieces got a bit warped after 25+ years in attics, boxes, etc.  One day I was at a thrift store and found another set for $5.99 (grey pieces)!!
Now if we connect a grey piece to an old piece it stays together and it's even better than before!

Some characteristics have changed while other features have stayed the same.  If I only knew how much toys from my childhood were going to be I would of saved a whole lot more...

They still have a ferry...

There's no more Chuck's Burger and Fries...

The street signs and building signs have been replaced with graffiti or car pictures.
It's ok and I've said it many times before--they don't make them like they used to!

All Dolled Up

Sydney has collected about 8 tubes of chap stick/lip gloss over her 3 short years of life.
She will sit down in front of the mirror and apply each one on top of each other or she might apply one, wipe off, apply another, wipe off, etc.
I have some REALLY old make-up so I gave it to her the other day...

Trying to figure out how to see and put eye shadow on the eye lid.

Figured it out but also insisted it was okay to use it for your cheek.

Right before she looked back in the mirror to see if she was finished she turns to me and says, "Go play.  I'll help get you ready when I'm done."  Ummm...I wonder where she's heard those words before.

So carrying on with her mommy role she asks for her glasses back.
I say, "No, I need them."
She replies, "No, really they are not a toy.  I need my glasses."
Oh man.

This, I don't take credit for teaching her...She's grandma. :o)

Playroom Camp out

Last week the kiddos camped for 3 nights in the playroom.
They were more than willing to sleep there longer but I was done with having a massive outdoor tent set up in our house.

Fluff and Stuff

It have decided that Sydney is a stuffed animal girl.
She'll play with babies or barbies every so often but stuffed animals are her true LOVE!
There is always somebody (the stuffed variety) going with us.

Awhile back I tried documenting a week of stuffed animals to prove that she is indeed bordering on the edge of  Love and pretty much obsessed with these fluffy toys.

I only got 4 days in...

Thursday: new fox purchased at IKEA

Friday: still loving the fox family

Saturday: foxes go to Scott's baseball game

Saturday: foxes have been replaced.  Next up...Monkeys

And that's as far as I got.
